President Khama has a new official name

Permanent Secretary to the President (PSP) Carter Morupisi has released a savingram stating the new official name of President Ian Khama.

The savingram that was addressed to all permanent secretaries, Embassies and Heads of Botswana Missions abroad is dated February 8, 2016.

It reads, "With immediate effect and with recent awards and decorations, His Excellency the president's official name and reference will be "His Excellency the President Lieutenant General Dr Seretse Khama Ian Khama."
