Police stations to be revamped - Kgathi

The Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Shaw Kgathi said that his ministry has embarked on an assessment of maintenance and renovation of police stations countrywide in the next financial year.

Speaking at the first Ntlo Ya Dikgosi meeting today, Kgathi said he was aware that police station offices and officers’ houses were in a bad shape and therefore in the scooping process he and the Police Commissioner toured a number of stations across Gaborone to see how bad the situation was. 

“Police stations across the country need revamping and maintenance. We have started a scoping exercise to assess the extent and level of maintenance in police stations so that we can factor that in the upcoming budget.
