Nine Directorate of Intelligence and Security Services (DISS) agents are under investigation after allegations that they tortured four members of the security forces.

Two soldiers and two policemen have said they were severely beaten and humiliated at a torture chamber at the offices of DISS about a month ago.

The matter was reported to Central Police Station in Gaborone. The former commander of the station, Takongwa Mazwiduma told Mmegi that they are on the brink of finalising their investigations into the allegations. Mazwiduma has been transferred to Selebi-Phikwe. "I will travel to Gaborone next week to conclude the case and make recommendations to the relevant authorities," Mazwiduma said.
