Despite spirited campaigns launched by different organisations for the 16 Days of Activism against Gender Based Violence (GBV), yet another woman, a police officer was allegedly brutally murdered by her boyfriend in Mabutsane.

The 26-year-old Special Constable stationed at Mabutsane police station was allegedly stabbed to death by her 29-year-old boyfriend with a sharp object in Mabutsane. Confirming to be investigating the case, Mabutsane police station commander, Superintendent Batani Lehuma said the incident occurred yesterday around 3:30 am.

“Our preliminary investigation has revealed that the duo rumored to have been in a love relationship had a misunderstanding prior to the stabbing. The suspect who is still at large fled the crime scene after committing the offence and a police manhunt has been launched on the matter,” Lehuma said.
