Police officer shoots wife, turns gun on himself

In another act of Gender-Based Violence (GBV), a 39-year-old woman is currently fighting for her life in a hospital after she was shot by her husband, a police officer, who turned the gun on himself.

The incident happened on Friday evening at the police camp in Mogoditshane. This incident was confirmed by the Botswana Police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Dipheko Motube in a telephonic interview.

Motube, who was constrained to share further details said: “I can confirm the incident occurred at our police camp in Mogoditshane where a 46-year-old Botswana police sub-inspector on Friday night shot at his 39-year-old wife with a service rifle.
