Police chase night vendors at �murder� spot

Police officers moved in swiftly over the weekend to disperse unlicenced street vendors at the busy Maruapula Shopping Complex. Sources say this may have been motivated by the two gruesome killings that happened there in the last two weeks.

Those present at the Complex,  which houses the popular Gaborone hangout, Zoom Nightclub, say by Saturday night no street vendor was operating around the area.

Mmegi had previously been informed that the street vendors were the main cause of the havoc around the area. Sources say that the street vendors attracted people who camped outside the area, leading to increased incidents of crime, including murder.
