Phikwe man shoots burglar

SELEBI-PHIKWE: A Selebi-Phikwe Town Council (SPTC) employee shot and seriously wounded an alleged burglar recently in Phase 1, police have confirmed.

Police commander Superintendent Victor Nlebesi said the incident happened when the council employee and his family were woken up by footsteps outside the house whereupon they found two men in the living room armed with stones and iron bars.

It is understood that in self-defence the house owner pulled out his gun and fired a shot that injured one of the intruders before they fled.
