Pedestrian sustains injuries following accident

A pedestrian aged 26 sustained a fractured right hand after she was hit by a car whilst walking by the roadside in Bobididi ward, Mogoditshane on Saturday morning.

Mogoditshane Police Station commander, Superintendent Mbiganyi Letsholathebe said the accident occurred around 6:30am.

He added that following the accident, the Zimbabwean victim who is also an illegal immigrant, was taken to Princess Marina Hospital where she is currently receiving medical assistance.

“Then, the driver of the car that hit her, a 40-year-old man failed to provide the police with sufficient breath when the police wanted to check if he was driving under the influence of alcohol or not," Letsholathebe said.

“He is currently in police custody for investigations," Letsholathebe said.
