Pastor refused bail in rape case

FRANCISTOWN: A Zambian man who is said to be a pastor in Israel has been denied bail pending a trial on Thursday for rape that has been partly heard by a Francistown magistrate.

Japhet Manika is said to have raped a woman in Francistown about mid last year in Francistown while on transit from Israel to his home country.

Manika fought so hard to acquire bail to the extent of quoting the bible to the presiding judge, Justice Professor Kholisani Solo who simply retaliated with another scripture.
