Passenger, 21, succumbs to head-on collision injuries

A 21-year-old young man, who was a passenger in a Toyota Cressida that was involved in a head-on collision along Boatle-Mmakgodi Road on Friday evening, has succumbed to injuries sustained.

The deceased passed away on Saturday morning while hospitalised at Bamalete Lutheran Hospital. Deputy Divisional Traffic Officer for South Central, Senior Superintendent Boiki Mojalemotho explained that the accident occurred at around 7:20pm after a Toyota Cressida collided with a Toyota RunX. "The deceased was in the company of a male driver who is currently still fighting for his life together with the Toyota RunX driver while hospitalised at Bamalete Lutheran Hospital complaining of chest pains," Mojalemotho said. He added: "The accident occurred when one of the drivers was attempting to overtake, resulting in the head-on collision."
