Palapye gripped by election fever

FRANCISTOWN: With only about two weeks to go before the Palapye by-election on March 15, the town has been literally turned into a political battlefield.

Every morning, residents are woken up early in the morning by politicians from across the political divide making important announcements for the day.
Multiple speakers are mounted on top of the vehicles running around town. The day is closed with another announcement.

Imagine three different parties making their announcements at the same time and often at different intervals. So the noise can be a nuisance, especially when the announcements are fashioned to counter those of other parties.
It is time for politicians to show their bravery and knock at almost every homestead doing door-to-door campaigns. Politicians are often viewed as obstinate persons or self-willed characters for their tendency to burst onto areas that are ordinarily no-go areas to them.
