Paedophiles wreak havoc worldwide

As the debate rages on around the world, the topic on paedophiles has not made it in Botswana. For a start, the Botswana Police Service does not have any records specifically on paedophiles or sex offenders with a skewed interest in children.

According to the police, information they have is only on rapists or defilements but not on adults who rape and violate both adults and children.

The Collins English dictionary describes a paedophile as an adult who has sexual desire for children or who has committed the crime of sex with a child.
