Although opposition parties have reached a compromise on the issue of the name to be used in the coming 2019 general elections and two vice presidents, their portfolios have not been well defined.

The outcome of the negotiation talks is expected to be announced today at the Oasis Motel. The Botswana Congress Party (BCP) and the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) on Wednesday met and agreed that the name UDC will be used in the 2019 elections and the party shall have two vice presidents. 

The UDC has agreed to second VP as proposed by the BCP. The Botswana People’s Party (BPP) has been given the chairmanship of the UDC.
