FRANCISTOWN: Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital (NRH) is still receiving diarrhea cases of infants, amid fears that the disease is a result of unhygienic practices in households.

NRH spokesperson Caiphus Gabana said the hospital has been admitting an average of three babies a day, bringing to 15 the number of diarrhea cases concerning infants. "The number of babies we admit here is a concern since it shows that in households, the disease is still extreme," Gabana asserted.

Gabana identified unhyigienic practices in households as the cause for diarrhea in babies. He however said that the hospital is ready to attend to the disease and is managing to discharge babies within a shorter period of time compared to two months back when babies were dying.
