Nkate rubbishes allegations

Education minister, Jacob Nkate, has rubbished allegations that a ministry official responsible for deploying students abroad has issued students with new Memoranda Of Agreement.

It is alleged that the officer wrote letters to the students prohibiting them from returning home for holidays until they have completed their studies. The officer is also said to have threatened to reduce the students' allowances, as what they had been given was "just too much".

Shocked at the turn of events, students who had signed new Memorandum Of Agreement with the ministry before departure, complained to their parents and the media.
