Just a week after a pressure group from the country, Caprivi Concerned Group announced that it had reported Botswana to the International Criminal Court (ICC), the Namibians accuse Botswana soldiers of burning grass in their country and ‘stealing’ animals from their land.

The BDF is also accused of having killed many Namibians through the ‘shoot to kill policy’. The allegations were not made by just an ordinary Namibian citizen or a concerned group, but a whole Governor of Zambezi Region, Alufea Sampofu.

He was responding to a question from the Namibian Parliamentary Standing Committee on Natural Resources, which had asked about the situation along the border with Botswana in Katima Mulilo, Namibia earlier this week. Sampofu said on many occasions, the BDF went into Namibia to chase animals grazing on the Namibian side into Botswana.
