The defeated Botswana National Front (BNF) Letlhakeng West parliamentary candidate Filbert Nagafela has blamed his defeat squarely on the mighty power of the government.

Giving a speech after the announcement of the results of the by-election  Nagafela said he stood against the whole government and not Botswana Democratic Party (BDP)'s Letlhakeng West's now newly elected Member of Parliament Ngaka Ngaka.

"I didn't compete with Ngaka but the mighty government with all its resources. The government has been mobilised to fight me, a poor man," said the dejected Nagafela. He said he will pray for President Ian Khama who had mobilised  state resources to campaign in the constituency against him.
