MPs give medicines' bill the thumbs up

All those who stood up to comment characterised the bill as an important development that was long overdue.
"I stand to support this bill," said the MP for Francistown West, Tshelang Masisi. "Some people have been selling counterfeit medicines to the unsuspecting public. I hope the bill will also include traditional medicine."
Seakgosing had said the current Drugs and Related Substances Act came into effect on September 18, 1992. He added that the regulations under this Act were published under Statutory Instrument No. 46 of 1993. "The act and its regulations have therefore been in place for a long period of time," said Seakgosing.
