She says it must have been her intelligence, confidence and knowledge of HIV/AIDS issues that set her apart from the rest when she scooped this year's Miss Stigma Free recently in Kasane.

An ecstatic Maria Motse says during her tenure, she will continue to educate people about the importance of accessing treatment, care and support.

The 28-year-old woman, who lives in Molepolole but hails from Ratholo in Tswapong, says because of stigma, some people are still failing to acces government programmes such as the Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) and anti-retrovirals (ARVs).
