Moruti warns Nkate

Member of Parliament (MP) for Okavango Vister Moruti has warned that he has the capabilities of making political life miserable for Education Minister Jacob Nkate.

He told Parliament yesterday that Nkate encourages factions in the ruling party and warned that he could destroy his political life if he continued doing so.

Moruti alleged that without his knowledge, Nkate toured his constituency just before the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) primary elections. "Why did he leave me here to tour my constituency.  He did not even discuss anything with me," he said. The MP said that during the tour Nkate told his constituents that there were problems with the proposed senior secondary school in Shakawe to the extent that it might not be built. He said the motive behind the tour was to make him (Moruti) lose the primary elections. He spoke strongly against factionalism in the party, accusing Nkate of fuelling the problem. Nkate, who is also MP for Ngami and Minister of Education and Skills Development, was not in the House to defend himself.
