More police officers for night shifts-Khama

Government has taken a decision that will see more and more police officers doing night shifts in order to combat skyrocketing crime in the country.

President Ian Khama yesterday told a High Level Consultative Council (HLCC) that he has already put in place a mechanism that would see more police officers doing night shifts than there are doing day shifts.

Mmegi understands that Khama told the HLCC that the crime rate is rising at alarming proportions, majority of it happening in the cover of darkness.
