More join Malan in demanding Kgatleng land

Defence lawyers in the disputed Kgatleng tribal land in Pilane and Bokaa say they expect more people to join the first applicant in the case, Mochudi businessman Abraham Malan, in claiming chunks of land in the area as their own.

In their arguments before Lobatse High Court, Justice Michael Leburu, Monthe and Marumo Attorneys (for the Kgatleng Land Board), state that it is clear from the evidence led before the Land Tribunal that there are more individuals who are putting up claims over the disputed land.

 "These include the sons and daughters of Kgosi Molefhi, the Bogatsu families, Sejoe families, the Molefe families and the Herero tribe, to mention a few," said the Kgatleng Land Board lawyers.
