Monarch South residents decry demise of their ward

FRANCISTOWN: Monarch South residents are bracing themselves for negative developments that might arise from losing their ward after the Delimitation Commission (DC) partitioned the ward into two, in the process incorporating the other half into Blue Town ward.

This course of action means that there will no longer be Monarch South, as the other portion will be integrated into Monarch North.

Residents recently held a Kgotla meeting where they discussed the way forward regarding the DC's decision. At the emotionally charged meeting, they described the move as torture of the highest proportion. They said that they cannot allow their ward to be divided because they want it developed and being integrated into other areas might stall developments.
