Member of Parliament (MP) for Gaborone West South Robert Molefhabangwe, who was recently expelled from the Botswana National Front (BNF), says he is going to stand for a parliamentary seat in the coming general election.

Speaking to Mmegi in Gaborone yesterday, he said that his expulsion from BNF did not mean the end of his political career. He said that he was a political activist before joining the BNF; so the party could not determine his political future.  "There is politics beyond parties and association with a political party is not the only determinant of one's political future," he said.

Molefhabangwe said that he is yet to figure out how he is going to stand and would not confirm reports that he intends to stand as an independent candidate. "What I can tell you is that I am going to stand for the general elections," he stated.
