Mogae leaves no legacy - Saleshando

Botswana Congress Party (BCP) leader Gilson Saleshando has described President Festus Mogae as "a man who had no plans to develop the country when he assumed office".

Responding to the President's state of the nation address during a press conference held at Gaborone Sun yesterday, Saleshando said Mogae's speech was embarrassing and uninspiring because the President had failed to develop the country's economy.

He however gave the President credit for not extending his tenure in office, stating that Mogae was leaving office a tired man who at least had the courtesy to respect the country's constitution unlike other African presidents who had the tendency of changing the constitution in order to stay in power.
