Mmegi reporters scooped most of the Media Institute of Southern Africa(MISA) awards announced during the 2007 annual gala dinner held at the Gaborone Sun last Friday.

In the sports category, sponsored by MultiChoice, Mmegi's Letso Mpho walked away with P1,500 as MISA's Sports writer of the Year. Mpho's story published late last year and titled "Zebras with diminishing stripes" won the hearts of the judges as it comprehensively discussed Botswana's chances of qualifying for the African Cup of Nations after a good run in the Council of Southern African Football Associations (COSAFA) Cup.

Also from Mmegi, reporter Chandapiwa Baputaki scooped the Education Reporting award, courtesy of the Botswana Secondary School Teachers Union (BOSETU).
