Ministry Employees Donate To Phikwe Orphans

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Members of the HIV/AIDS Committee in the Ministry of Environment Wildlife and Tourism here donated toiletry to orphans last Friday.

Receiving the goods for the Selebi-Phikwe Town Council, Councillor Tshiamo Ikaneng applauded the employees and said it was a good sign that they cared for the underprivileged in society. "You have demonstrated responsibility, not because you had the means to raise money, but because you felt the need to assist in any way possible. One hopes your gesture will motivate others."

Tshiamo highlighted that the local orphan care committee participated in a sponsored walk from Gaborone to Selebi-Phikwe to raise funds used towards building houses for orphaned children. He noted that after the walk more people came forward to give towards the project.
