Merafe gets X-mas relief

Vice President, Mompati Merafhe, had an early Christmas present after a P3 million adultery lawsuit arising from allegations of having untoward relations with one Preston Stephen's wife, was withdrawn yesterday.

The Vice President was charged last August.
Stephen's attorney, Gabriel Kanjabanga, yesterday told Acting Chief Justice Maruping Dibotelo that he was under instructions to withdraw the matter. "I have been given instructions to withdraw the matter," Kanjabanga said.

The Vice President's attorney, Phazha Kgalemang of Kgalemang and Associates law firm in Francistown, did not oppose the withdrawal, saying that they would have no problem if Stephen paid the costs of the appearance.
