Matshekge Students To The Rescue

'Born to suffer. Simply born to suffer!' This is how Tshokologo Mpedi sees her life. It is a heartrending tale of an orphaned and destitute family; a family that depends solely on the council's food basket for sustenance which, thankfully, Mpedi's younger siblings are entitled to.

Tshokologo Mpedi, her three sons and her six siblings live in Dandane Ward in Bobonong. Born into a poor family twenty years ago, Tshokologo has led a precarious existence from the beginning.

Tshokologo and a younger sister, Dipone, left primary school early. With almost no education at all, the two sisters had little hope of ever improving their lot.  They have been eking out a living as domestic servants in Bobonong and other places.
