The Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mokgweetsi Masisi has informed Parliament that the demarcation exercise should be completed by June 2013.

He said that save for a few modifications intended to fine-tune the procedure to be followed, the demarcation will be carried out as per the delimitation exercise. He said the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has started youth clubs to lure the youth to engage in elections and other civic responsibilities.

The formation of democracy youth clubs has been done in collaboration with other organisations. Computers from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Botswana Telecommunications Authority (BTA) have been secured to be used as prizes for debate and essay writing competitions. Masisi said IEC continues to explore avenues to send personalised reminders to first time voters.
