*Motswarakgole says his union never agreed with minister on gradual payment of outstanding industrial workers dues

The National Amalgamated Central and Local Government and Parastatal Manual Workers Union has never entered into any agreement with the Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mokgweetsi Masisi, regarding payment of P388 million owed to industrial class workers, says the Organising Secretary of the union.Following the statement made by Masisi in Parliament recently that he had engaged unions in "a pleasant agreement" to handle payments slowly, Johnson Motshwarakgole says all he knows is that the minister told them there was no money.

The unionist says it "disrespectful" of Masisi to make such claims in Parliament. " We met him for the first time ever since he was appointed minister a week ago when he requested to see the chairperson (of the union) and he said there was no money," he says. "So o a re pateletsa." Masisi told Parliament that he had briefed Motshwarakgole's union on the July 31, 2012 about the challenges government had in paying the workers and that he and the union had reached an understanding on finding a solution.
