Masisi denies employing underhand campaign tactics

FRANCISTOWN: Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) members in the Francistown region believe that a campaign meeting convened on Sunday by Vice President (VP) Mokgweetsi Masisi was staged.

Masisi was in Francistown campaigning for the BDP chairmanship position. Yesterday an insider at the meeting said that speakers at the meeting were not handpicked at the meeting. Instead the sources alleged that a list of speakers was prepared before the meeting held at Adansonia hotel.   “It appeared that only people who were pro VP Masisi were given the chance to talk. Another BDP insider confirmed that the meeting appeared to have been staged. “It will be much of a coincidence that all the speakers at the meeting will speak the same thing,” said the source.
