Masire�s office to shut down

The senior private secretary to the late former President has dismissed talk that his office will be phased out. While government spokesperson confirms that the office of Sir Ketumile Masire will close soon, Fraser Tlhoiwe told Mmegi that to the contrary, the office will remain operational as it is treated as an extension of the Office of the President.

Masire, who was the country’s second President died on June 22, 2017 after he was hospitalised for a week.

Just over a month after his burial, Tlhoiwe says the late former president’s office is still “up and running”. Tlhoiwe said there are no plans to shut the office because it is just an extension of the Office of the President.
