Markus: Politician by default

MAUN: The Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) Maun East Parliamentary candidate Kosta Markus says he came into politics by default but eventually made a conscious decision to stand and represent his electorates at Parliament come October.

The Maun businessman said he was approached by some people in the town to stand for Bulela Ditswe but revealed that several times he declined. After they kept persisting, he eventually gave in to the requests.

Markus said politics is a rough game and needs someone with patience, perseverance and a hardened heart to take anything thrown at him.
