Marginal seats could go either way

As the political parties prepare for the October general elections, the 2004 Elections Report shows that there are a number of marginal seats which could go either way. MPs from the Botswana National Front (BNF), Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) and the Botswana Congress Party (BCP), who are holding on to these seats, may not make it back to the National Assembly after the elections.

For the first time the BNF runs the risk of losing its stranglehold on Gaborone, especially Gaborone South which has always been its bastion. 

One of the endangered species is the MP for Ngami, Jacob Nkate, who is also the former BDP secretary general.
