African National Congress (ANC) Secretary General, Gwede Mantashe has paid a visit to Botswana and is expected to hold a formal meeting with Botswana Democractic Party (BDP) members today.

Manstashe who is accompanied by former National Intelligence Chief Billy Masetla, President Jacob Zuma's international Relations Adviser, Lindiwe Zulu and Gauteng Economic Development Head Khulu Radebe's visit to Botswana are to build party relations between the ANC and the BPD.

The BDP Secretary General, Mpho Balopi told Mmegi that Mantashe's visits to Botswana was in relations to strengthening the existing relationship between the two countries and to also build the already existing momentum.
