FRANCISTOWN:Judgement in the case in which former Francistown mayor Ephraim Maiketso wants his case heard out of time, has now been postponed to December 20, 2013.

Justice Zibani Makhwade was initially scheduled to pass the ruling on December 13. Maiketso was removed from the mayoral seat after only about four months in the position by a motion of a vote of no confidence.

He now wants to be reinstated. The Francistown City Council (FCC) is cited as the first respondent in the case while current city mayor James Kgalajwe of the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) is the second respondent.  Morgan Moseki represents Maiketso, who is also his comrade at the Botswana Congress Party (BCP).  Wafa Nfila represents the city council while current mayor James Kgalajwe is represented by Collins, Newman and Company.  Maiketso believes that his case has high prospects of success. FCC and Kgalajwe, on the other hand, argue that Maiketso took too long to come to the courts.
