Mahalapye BOPEU donates to children's centre

Members of Botswana Public Employees Union (BOPEU), Mahalapye branch donated 15 blankets, food baskets and toiletry to orphans of 'A Re Ba Tlhokomeleng Children Centre' recently at Kalamare in the Shoshong constituency.

The centre holds 20 orphans aged between one and three years. Welcoming guests, Kgosi Goareng Mosinyi of Kalamare said BOPEU was not a 'mokgatlho' but a union. He said it was encouraging that BOPEU follows one of the pillars of Vision 2016, which focuses on the building of 'a compassionate, just and caring nation'.

When it was her turn to address the guests, the chairperson of the union, said: "BOPEU is a huge union which is made up of almost all government ministries. The organisation donated a one-roomed house, bed, fence and some trees donated to a destitute at Herero ward.
