Long distance bus fares hiked

The ministry of Works and Transport has increased fares for long distance buses with effect from last Monday.

According to the ministry's statement, "long distance buses travelling on bitumen roads will charge 18.58 thebe per kilometre while long distance buses travelling on sandy and gravel roads will now cost 20.55 thebe per kilometre."

The increases do not affect Taxi and Combi operations whose fares remain as P3.60 and P3. 00 respectively, the statement added.
