Life insurance motive for killing father, court told

LOBATSE: Life insurance was Agisanyang Motukwa's motive for planning and executing the murder of his father, the Lobatse High Court heard yesterday.

Some members of Motukwa's family burst into tears, as one of the accused Modise Sekai who has since turned accomplice witness told the court that Agisanyang wanted to claim the life insurance money. Sekai testified that Agisanyang, who had insured his father, had also planned to have his maternal aunt as well as his grandmother killed as well as he had bought life insurance for them too.

Agisanyang, a former prison warder, is the first accused in the murder of his father Motlhanka Motukwa on August 12, 2008 at Ntlhantle Village. The co-accused are Daniel Sime, Gaolatlhe Thusang and Modise Sekai.
