Let People Vote Without Omang - Modipane

Member of Parliament for Kgatleng West, Rakwadi Modipane has urged government to allow people who have registered to vote to exercise that right even if their identity cards or Omang have expired.

He said that it was not wise for government to deny people the right to vote just because their cards had expired. Contributing to the budget debate for Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs last week Modipane also said that prisoners should be allowed to vote because that is their constitutional right.

The oft-silent MP also urged government to investigate allegations that 1,000 passports went missing at the ministry offices and said action should be taken against the culprits.
