Lerala Chief At Loggerheads With His VDC

SELEBI-PHIKWE: Tension continues to characterise relations between the Chief of Lerala, Sello Moroka, and the Village Development Committee of his village.

Kgosi Moroka says the VDC has not accounted for over P9 000. The VDC says the amount is a miniscule P1 431, which the chief used to install an airconditioner.
The two have been at loggerheads over alleged maladministration of funds by the VDC, which saw the chief objecting to the election of a new committee on February 27 last year.

To-date, certain development projects are run by a VDC whose mandate expired in August 2005.
