Lekgwapheng Police Post to relieve Molepolole station workload

MOLEPOLOLE: The Botswana Police Commissioner Thebeyame Tsimako has told the people of Molepolole village that the newly built Lekgwapheng Police Post will relieve the main Molepolole Police Station of its increasing workload, considering the increasing size of the village.

The commissioner said this when he was opening the newly-built police post at Lekgwapheng ward in Molepolole on Saturday.  The facility, which comprises three offices, a mini conference hall and an ablution component was built from voluntary contributions received from individuals, the business community and other stakeholders. The facility was build at an amount of P400,000.

In his speech, Tsimako noted that before the introduction of Lekgwapheng Community Policing Cluster in 2009, the ward was experiencing an increasing number of crimes, especially cases of break-ins, assaults, rape and the use of insulting language. He added that the situation was compounded by the high concentration of unregulated shebeens in the area.
