Khumaga councillor quits BNF

FRANCISTOWN: Khumaga-Moreomaoto councillor Thomas Kgethenyane has quit the Botswana National Front (BNF) to become an independent politician.

Kgethenyane, who has been the Khumaga-Moreomaoto councillor since 2004, said he quit the BNF because voters told him that they would not vote him if he remains part of the Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC).

He said he has had sleepless nights since BNF joined the Umbrella. "On Friday last week, I decided it was time to call it quits with the party. I went to Rakops to fax the resignation letter to the BNF central committee in Gaborone," he said.
