Khama fails to charm Bontleng

President Ian Khama failed to charm White City/Bontleng multitudes as only a handful, mostly children turned up for the President's victory rally at Kofifi.

Khama and Vice-President Mompati Merafhe led the Domkrag victory celebrations  for Gaborone South on Saturday, but the numbers in attendance told a different story.

What was expected to be a monster party by the ruling Botswana Democratic Party (BDP), spear-headed by President Khama actually came close to a near disaster. First the morning motorcade failed to cause any fanfare in the location, then the rally that was scheduled to start at lunch time, did not start until way after 2pm, while the star man, President Khama and the VP were made to speak late in the programme, after 4pm, with the hope that by that time, the freedom square would be teeming with cheerleaders. By the time the chief guest took to the podium he found that most of the attendants were the party leadership, committee members and children.
