Khama Blames Media In BDP Fights

KANYE: President Ian Khama has accused the media and some elements in the Botswana Democratic Party (BDP) of fueling factionalism in the ruling party.

Addressing the party's national congress in Kanye last Saturday, Khama said that the media would like to see factions perpetuated and institutionalised in the BDP.

He said the media claims that democracy and the constitution is under threat without giving examples. He reassured the congress that democracy and the constitution of the party will never be threatened. He said the greatest challenge is unity in the party.
