Kgari averts Kumakwane chieftaincy dispute

Kgosi Kgari Sechele III of the Bakwena yesterday nipped in the bud what could have turned into a protracted chieftaincy dispute in the Kumakwane village of the Kweneng district.

Addressing Kumakwane residents at the village kgotla yesterday, Kgari announced that Opelo Chommie Seboni, the eldest son of the incumbent chief Opelo Kgabo, should be the heir to the throne.

Kgari named Chommie the rightful heir over his cousin Mpipi Tebele, who had claimed that he was the rightful chief of the village.
