Kgafela turns the heat on journalists

Bakgatla royals have now turned their guns on the media. Led by their paramount chief, Kgafela Kgafela, they launched a scathing attack on journalists yesterday and lashed out particularly at the private media for what they said is biased reporting.

Before Regional Magistrate, Barnabas Nyamadzabo, Kgafela said journalists lacked respect when they photographed him and his men in court. He said the journalists covering their case do not report what is happening in court.

He complained that photojournalists continue taking their pictures while they are in the dock despite their objections. "Bana ba ga ba a tsalega, ga baa godisiwa sentle ke batsadi ba bone. (These kids are ill-parented, ill-bred and not properly brought up by their parents," Kgafela said.
