At a rally on Sunday at Mopipi Freedom Square in Mmapole ward, the former MP for Kgatleng East, Isaac Davids accused his arch rival Isaac Mabiletsa of publicly declaring during the last Kgotla meeting that "he will die with Kgafela". He said Mabiletsa does not know Kgafela. Davids said he raised Kgafela because he was the late Kgosi Linchwe's servant. "Ke ne ke le lelata la Kgosi Linchwe, ke mmerekela, ke godisitse Kgafela," he said.
The former ruling party MP, who recently defected to the Botswana National Front (BNF) said he only parted ways with "Kgafela yesterday after being installed as the Bakgatla paramount chief" and that he felt that he had done his job. "Therefore, I wanted Kgafela to now enjoy and relax with his agemates," he said.Davids criticised a ruling party councillor for Malotwana ward (Mpho Morolong), who said during a full council meeting that he "will choose to die with President Ian Khama, rather than Kgafela". He said Morolong's statement is disappointing and that he does not act like a Mokgatla. In the last Kgotla meeting held at the Bakgatla sovereign capital, Mochudi, Mabiletsa declared that he supports Kgafela and repeatedly said: "I will die with him". In the same Kgotla meeting, the MP for Kgatleng East, Gibert Mangole said his colleagues make fun of him and ask where his chief is.
