Dithapelo Keorapetse has been co-opted as the president of the Botswana Congress Party's youth league (BCPYL), Okavango legislator Bagalatia Aaron as vice president and Tshegofatso Raditlhokwa as chairperson.

The three were co-opted by resolution of congress in Kasane over the weekend. The BCP congress also resolved to adopt the draft constitution of BCPYL that will become operational from July 1. Outgoing BCPYL president, Lotty Manyapetsa, says adoption of the constitution sealed the main objective of the congress.

Manyapetsa has been the leader of BCPYL inspite of being above the constitutional age limit of 35. Speaking to Mmegi after the congress, he said age should not be an obstacle to assuming positions in political parties.
